It was an opportunity to showcase the brand in a completely different setting, connect with new faces, and see our pieces worn and enjoyed in a high-profile, memorable environment. From the energy of the event to the incredible people who stopped by, it was a moment worth celebrating and sharing!

What the Oscars Celebrity Gifting Suite Was Like
The Pre-Oscars Celebrity Gifting Suite was held at the Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills on the Friday and Saturday leading up to the Oscars. The event welcomes nominees and presenters to mingle, discover new brands, and explore products that companies believe celebrities will love. Each guest is paired with a talent handler who guides them through the suite, introducing them to different vendor booths where founders and CEOs share the stories behind their brands.
Shady Lady was incredibly fortunate to be invited after I met the organizer of the gifting suite at a trade show in Las Vegas last month. They stopped by my booth and were immediately impressed with Shady Lady’s mission—creating hats designed specifically to fit women’s heads and disrupting the traditional hat industry. After our conversation, I received a call just two days later inviting us to participate in the gifting suite. It was truly an honor to be included!
Bringing Shady Lady to the Event

As a brand owner, getting your products into the hands of tastemakers and celebrities is incredibly meaningful. Their support can have a powerful impact through word of mouth and visibility. While I hoped women would respond positively to Shady Lady, I was truly amazed by how excited they were about what we’re doing with our hats.
So many women told me they have struggled for years to find hats that actually fit their heads properly. Over and over again, celebrities shared that they’ve tried countless hats that never sit quite right—until they tried on ours. Hearing that firsthand was incredibly validating.
Many of the celebrities also generously shared Shady Lady on their own platforms, which meant so much and confirmed that they genuinely loved the product. The entire weekend felt like a pinch-me moment, seeing so many talented and inspiring women wearing our hats.
Why This Moment Matters for Shady Lady

This event was incredibly meaningful because it gave Shady Lady the opportunity to put our hats directly into the hands of women who influence culture and trends. Seeing celebrities and tastemakers try on our hats, fall in love with the fit, and genuinely respond to the product was incredibly validating. Moments like this help introduce the brand to new audiences and create organic excitement around what we’re building.

A Few Favorite Moments from the Event

Some of my favorite moments from the event were seeing celebrities like Tiffany Haddish and Alexandra Metz continue wearing our hats throughout the rest of the gifting suite. It was such a great feeling to see them genuinely enjoying the product and choosing to keep it on as they moved through the event.
I also had some really meaningful conversations with women like Courtney Stodden and Rachel Stubington about how frustrating it can be that so many products are designed for men—even when they’re marketed to women. Those conversations reinforced exactly why I started Shady Lady in the first place. I’m incredibly proud to be building a company that is working to change that.
Looking back, the Oscars Celebrity Gifting Suite was such a special experience for Shady Lady. It was exciting, inspiring, and full of moments that reminded me how meaningful it is to see this brand continue to grow.
